Of Memory and Engineering – The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline and Armenia
Photographer Helen Sheehan and James Marriott of Platform present images and stories from the Baku-Tbilisi-Pipeline and Eastern Turkey. Drawing from Dyarbakir/Dikanakeard and Zaytoun/Zeitoun and the recently published The Oil Roadi they will explore how this massive piece of 21st century energy infrastructure was excavated through the complex social fabric and deep history of Eastern Anatolia and the Caucasus.
Helen Sheehan – photographer and photojournalist, who has a long engagement with issues in Eastern Anatolia
James Marriott – artist, activist and naturalist, works as part of Platform and is co-author of a number of works, including The Next Gulf.
